The Colossus Of Krauss Begins His Reign In Houston
During the game today, Trevor Crowe got into it with the right field wall, and certainly did not come out on top. The collision resulted in a sprain of his AC joint, and a trip to the 15-day disabled list. Marc Krauss, a 25 year old OF/1B, got the call to replace Crowe for the near and possible extended future. Krauss was having a fine year at AAA Oklahoma City with a slash line of .277/.393/.488. The 43/45, BB/K is especially sexy. Krauss was acquired in the Chris Johnson trade last year with the Diamondbacks along with Bobby Borchering. I figured that Krauss would get the call soon enough considering the super two deadline has passed. Krauss will most likely take time from either JD Martinez or Justin Maxwell in left or right, considering Barnes has solidified himself in center, and the rotation at 1B is already clogged with Carter and Pena. I'd imagine Krauss will be given an extended look much like Robbie Grossman was given, because if the Astros were looking for temporary a stop gap for Crowe, Paredes would have been given the call. May the reign of Krauss be a prosperous one. My expectations are probably too high, but a fan can dream. Go 'Stros!
