The Fate Of Tal's Hill

Tal's Hill is here to stay, at least for the upcoming season that is. General Manager Jeff Luhnow confirmed that the Astros will be looking into possible changes in center field in the future. Luhnow talked about possible changes in configuration, dimensions, and changes made would be made with the fans best interest in mind. Jeff Luhnow confirmed that possible injury concern may and likely will factor into the final decision regarding Tal's Hill. One point Luhnow made was that because the Astros play more games than anyone in Minute Maid, that there is a relatively higher risk that if someone is injured it may indeed be an Astro. Another point Jeff Luhnow made in favor of the spacious center field was that the deep alley to center may garner attention and be an incentive regarding free agent pitchers. I personally can't help but think that the hill in center is not long for this world, and I'm really indifferent on how I feel about it. I also wonder if the name, and ties to a previous regime have had influence in whether or not the hill will go. Part of me does indeed enjoy the novelty in center, it's different, and it's ours. Houston baseball has always had a unique identity, and Tal's hill helped further that tradition. I would be on board with change as long as the Astros don't demo the hill and call it a day. I wouldn't be opposed to a section of stands in place of the hill, or possibly a novelty in celebration of homeruns or something of the sort as long as it isn't too gaudy. I would certainly be interested in any proposed plans the front office may have, as long as there are no vile, horrendous, abominable, dreadful, devastating, horrific, God awful community billboards set in place of the hill.
