10 Teams 10 Days 2013-2014: Rank #9

Coming in at #9 in our rankings, the Chicago Bulls. With Derrick Rose back they could be much better than #9, but we will have to see how strong he comes back from that serious ACL injury.

The Bulls are still a reasonably young team with Derrick Rose still only 24 years old and Jimmy Butler, who is from Houston, at 23 years of age; you can expect them to be a top 10 team for the years to come.

Chicago ranked 3rd in the NBA defensively last year, allowing only 92.9 points a game.
Their problem was scoring points, and thinking that the return of Derrick Rose will fix that problem is a bit bold. Tweet me about it @Rocketsbias

  1. how is rose coming back not going to help fix their scoring problem? the guy averages 25 points a game, and 7 assists. he takes pressure off of deng, so lu doesnt have to feel like hes a #1 option, cuz hes not. the offense will run much smoother with rose. and butler is emerging both offense and defense. thinking that his return will fix the scoring problem isnt bold at all, its logic dumbass.

  2. You sound as if the Bulls were averaging zero a game from the PG position. It's all about relative statistics in reference to Drose's impact on the scoring. Lets Assume he averages 25/7(which is a career high before major knee injury)... The Bulls PG rotation of Nate Robinson, Kirk Hinrich, and Marquis Teague averaged 20 PPG and 10.3 assists. There's the intangibles that a healthy Drose brings to the table, but considering the production in his stead... what leads you to believe that he'll have a massive impact on scoring much less a drastic one? Granted Drose will absolutely give the Bulls more bang for their buck taking shots away from the low .377 FG% by Hinrich, but factor in a 3 point % north of .400 on Robinsons part and one at .390 for hinrich and plug it with Rose's career.310 3p% and the impact isn't one that's going to make a healthy change north in their scoring trends. You have to put the big name, emotional attachment, and stock to it aside and consider the fact that his replacements only averaged about 1 fewer points per game than his career average of 21. Drose owns a career average of 1669 points per year...The PG replacements combined for 1632 points. Yes, he's Drose, hes a superstar, he's going to help the Bulls out quite a bit, but as far as impacting the scoring of this squad a great degree? no. There are other problems to tend to in reference to greater offensive production out of that lineup. I close with this....the 2010-2011 Bulls STILL ranked 20th out of 30 teams with 98.6 PPG despite Derek Rose's MVP year, highest scoring season as a pro of 2026 points. Did I mention he had major reconstructive knee surgery?
